FormscanBy Alan Magee - PINKERTON just qualifies for this race for horses rated 135 or less over fences or hurdles and has taken well to chasing judged on two outings this autumn. The Noel Meade-trained gelding was placed in valuable handicap hurdles last season and shaped well twice over fences at Fairyhouse including when beaten just over two lengths by Mister Policeman last month. Captain Conby has a similar profile to the selection except he’s already won over fences at Killarney and has to concede 4lb. He’s been placed on both outings since in Graded races and rates an obvious threat. Firm Footings has won twice over hurdles and ran off a mark of 135 in a Naas handicap last time, while there is little to choose between Hgranca De Thaix and Spillane’s Tower on running behind The Big Chap at Galway.
