Formscan By Gary Carson - MOLTO AMICHI might be worth a shot here on his return to hurdling. The Caravaggio gelding gained an overdue win on the Flat here last month and was a bit too free when beaten favourite at Galway last time. He made one outing over timber last year and would have finished third to Ace Brannigan at Tipperary in October but for a tired fall at the last. That form has worked out well since. Sea Eagle ran a solid race when runner-up at Wexford last time, behind Rosenborg. He’s entitled to play a big part now. Ealu Tapa was an impressive bumper winner at Ballinrobe last month and is also respected on his jumping bow.

We fancied him at Punchestown and things didn't go his way,. A horse was dropping back and fell right into his path, and that knocked him out of the race. Josh Halford came in and said that he was unlucky and that there was plenty of ability there. He's a fine big horse, and is out of a sister to Peregrine Run. If he does even a third of what Peregrine Run did, we'll be happy, and we have his half-sister by Maxios at home.

It’s more of a relief than anything else. It’s been a while coming and unfortunately horses like him tend to get a reputation maybe for being ungenuine and it wouldn’t be well deserved in his case. He’s been second five times and third and fourth another four times, I think. We were just wondering if it was ever going to happen. We’ve employed a little bit more positive tactics with him. We did in Leopardstown the last day but he just hit a soft patch of ground about half-a-furlong from home and it stopped him in his tracks. The ground was beautiful here today and he did it handy enough in the end.
