Ethan gave him a great ride but unfortunately his grandad died yesterday, so it will give his family a lift,. He wanted to ride today and this is his first winner for me, which is great. Ethan started off with me as a Flat apprentice, moved home to Waterford and is now back with me for the past couple of weeks. Live To Laugh has been very consistent and is knocking on the door the whole time. I thought his first run over fences was good and he was then unlucky when a horse jumped across him here in January (causing him to fall). I think they will have good fun with him, I don't think he is ground-dependent or anything, so I hope he will win a few races. He is owned by a good bunch of lads from all everywhere and anywhere.

He hadn't that many fences jumped going to Navan, but he jumped very well and it takes a bit of winning there. That is testing ground today, but he seemed to handle it away. He was well-in and I'm delighted it has come off. We'll work away with him now in both codes and he is a nice, solid type of horse. His owner John Murray, from Shinrone, is a good supporter of mine and was involved with Snugsborough Benny with me in the past.

Charlie is a big fella so lucky to be riding at all due to his weight. When I got him to win his first bumper I thought that was my job done, as I thought he wouldn't be riding any further but he was bitten by the bug and keeps at it. Charlie likes hurling, plays indoor soccer and works hard at his weight. He gave that horse an exceptional ride as he took his time on her. She had a great run the last day when only beaten 14 lengths by Maughreen so we were hopeful coming back to a handicap, with the 7lb claim. She is well-bred, is out of a half-sister to Our Vic, is a very nice looking mare so I'm glad to get the winning bracket with her. The horses are going well and this mare could stretch to three miles.

That's Conor's fifth winner. He started with me just over a year ago and started with no experience. For the chances he is getting his strike rate has been extremely good. He is good value for his claim and this horse is an ideal one for him to ride as he has plenty of experience,. I got him off the Dooly's and Noel is still involved with him. The Dooly's are fabulous people and they gave me the opportunity to buy three horses and I'm really pleased to have them. They are great friends and are lovely people, so I can't say enough thanks to Noel and Jenny Dooly, they are very good to me. He is a winter horse and we have winter ground today. I believe it's summer heavy today and so did Paul Townend and a lot of the senior jockeys, yet the board inside still says soft, yielding in places. The same clerk of the course (Paul Moloney) gave good to yielding in Kilbeggan last night, whereas all the senior jockeys said good, no yielding. There is a huge discrepancies. How are they seeing it as slower than the riders last night and quicker than the riders today. The discrepancy is too big and it doesn't make sense. I'm delighted because my horse is a winter horse and he got heavy ground today. Liz Doyle told me this morning it would be proper soft and she was right. He'll probably get a break now and come back in the winter to go over fences.

Then his foster mother had bits of problems, it's only now he's growing into a horse. He's a useful horse. He'll go to Listowel now for the winners of one novice. He wants further, he's out of a Flemensfirth mare. Fairyhill Run is a brilliant mare, she won a lot for us. She got an injury but it looks like she'll come back. I'd say he's way better than her, he's exciting. He's not very big yet but he's a nice one and he won that race with a bit in hand.
