Cheltenham Wed, 11th Mar, 2026  Kitzbuhel It was a very brave performance from Kitzbuhel to jump out and make all. Heading to the last and looking at Paul (Townend, on Final Demand) I thought he had him covered, but by the line Kitzbuhel was going away again. When you have a grey horse who loves to make the running, there’s been some brilliant ones down the years and they build up a big following. It’s been a lucky colour for me, my first winner as a trainer was a grey and as an owner. It’s great for Joe and Marie (Donnelly) given the bad luck they’ve had with State Man and Sir Gino this year, to have a third one up to winning Grade Ones is great. At least he was back to himself as his previous run at Sandown he didn’t jump out and he didn’t look himself in the parade ring, but Harry said he knew going to the start he was in great form. Given what he did at Kempton, which is right-handed and flat, to come here and down left on a left-handed undulating course speaks volumes. You’d have to be looking at the Gold Cup, but given how he whizzed around Kempton at Christmas the King George will definitely be on his agenda.

Naas Wed, 4th Mar, 2026  Let's Go Mans He had the run in the point-to-point the last day and he’s a real stayer. Keith gave him a great ride and being switched inside was probably the difference between winning and losing. He’s a work in progress, but hopefully he can progress from here and maybe he’ll win another one. We’ll get him back home and, if he’s sound, he’ll be out for something similar before too long. He’s lowly enough rated but hopefully he’ll be able to progress.

Navan Sat, 6th Dec, 2025  Saint Baco no matter how ready they are (following a layoff), it takes a fair beast to come to Navan on winter ground like that and run out a nice winner. We are delighted with the performance and we knew he was a nice horse at home. To put it all together, that's decent. I have a fine four-year-old that is good and tough through the race, so that was a nice run around for me. Fairyhouse Sun, 30th Nov, 2025  Koktail Brut Donagh was kind of able to force me along and make my lad do a little much. To be fair to him, he was fairly tough up the straight. He actually met the last lovely but, for whatever reason, he spent a bit of time in the air. He was good and tough from the back of the last. I thought I was after getting back up. I think I got headed at one stage, but I was confident I got back up. That was great. He probably did everything wrong, Jack said he was keen enough in front. We weren’t sure if there was going to be pace in the race so we said we’d just keep it simple and go on, but Jack said he was keen enough. He was very gutsy to come back. I’d say looking at that he probably wants a bit further. I’ll talk to Michael and Eddie (O'Leary, Gigginstown House Stud) and see but we won’t say he definitely wants two-and-a-half, but he could be one to maybe keep and go to Naas (Grade 1 in January) with. The only problem is that we have so many for it, so we’ll have to see. The horses are running great so we can’t complain.

Punchestown Sat, 22nd Nov, 2025  Kitzbuhel He needed that. It was a nice performance, he jumped economically and Paul was happy that he’d improve from that. We’ll look for a race after Christmas maybe the one at Limerick (Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Chase). Kaid D’Authie ran well and I’d say a longer trip. He jumps well, gallops, and covers a lot of ground. He just needed the run as well.

Punchestown Thu, 13th Nov, 2025  Koktail Brut Koktail Brut was very good, he was a lovely horse last year and I think he’s matured since the summer break. Danny (Gilligan) said he had a bit of a blow from the back-of-the-last so should improve plenty. He’s always a horse that we’ve really liked, he’s straightforward and professional about what he does. Danny was impressed by how well he picked up in the home straight. He should be capable of stepping into graded company.
