Formscan By Michael Graham - KANOG BAY disappointed in Thurles but, prior to that, won smartly in Fairyhouse and could bounce back to form. Caragh Monaghan takes 7lb off his back, so he's just 3lb higher than when delivering in Fairyhouse. Rebel Cowgirl enjoyed herself off the front in Punchestown and similar tactics could see her involved in the distribution of prize money. Pleasureofpressure has been placed in his last two handicap hurdles and is clearly on a mark he can be effective off. Others pitching for prize money include Gordon Elliott's Button Rock and Limerick-third Dolly Watkins.

. Two-and-a-half, going a right good gallop, is probably ideal for her. We held her up a bit the last day over two-miles-seven in Thurles and it didn’t work out for us. We decided to go back and make the running today and keep kicking. In fairness Cian gave her a great ride and she didn’t miss a trick. We’re delighted and we’ll try and get something similar in three or four weeks time. She’ll be a nice mare over a fence next year. She’s a well-bred mare, she’s out of a half-sister to Appreciate It.

I had him as a four-year-old and we always liked him. He got sold to Dermot (McLoughlin, previous trainer) and won his bumper for Dermot, which we always thought he'd do. Then he was very disappointing but I think he had some niggly problems. We got him about three months ago, he came in from his holidays but was very bad with his feet so we owe that to our farrier, who has did a great job with him. The slower ground was a big help to him. He'll hopefully get some confidence with that and we can mix it between chasing with him.

There was loads to like about it considering we were hoping he would do something like that in Limerick the other day (seventh on Thursday). He never seemed to raise a gallop in Limerick the other day. Bit of both (better ground and tactics), I'd say. Kieren said he hit the one well-watered patch in Limerick and he just came back underneath him and stopped jumping. We were scratching our heads, brought him home and rode him out yesterday myself, and he was bucking and squealing. Threw him out in the field this morning and he galloped around the place. We are a mile down the road, so we had to come and take our chance. Kieren said what was I thinking and I said pop him out. If something goes (on), they go, but make up his mind. We know he jumps well, so let him see his hurdles and attack them. It worked out well. It is our back garden, so it is great. It is my first winner here as a trainer, I had plenty of luck here as a rider. No plans really. I had Limerick in mind for a while, waiting for it. Thought we had him fairly right to run well and he was very disappointing. This was an extra race put on and I put him in. We'll see what the handicapper does.
