Formscan By Michael Graham - BARLEY LANE was an eye-catcher in second on hurdle debut at Punchestown. He kept the winning favourite honest in the closing stages and that horse followed up at Clonmel. Barley Lane wasn't as good when third on his next start in Naas, but that was a hot maiden. Powerful Paddy is an obvious threat after finishing runner-up in Thurles on stable debut for Willie Mullins. Out Of Aces ran well for a long way before dropping to fourth in an academy hurdle at Cork, while the 120-rated Combs has plenty of experience over flights. Carrig Padraig has switched to Gavin Cromwell after easily winning a ladies' bumper at Fairyhouse in October to add more depth to a good contest.

I have a lot of supporters and this is my first winner, so is the start of it. I had the choice of coming here or going to Killarney so I'm delighted to be here. He had a few good runs so I was hoping for his right ground and hoped he would break from the stalls and make the running. It turned out he got things his own way. He had a look around but when he straightened him up around the final bend, he knew it was home he was bound. We collected our money so that's what it is all about! He was well-backed each-way and was a good price. I have six horses in at the moment and have two or three syndicates locally in Askeaton, including lads who own the Top Of The Town Pub. I have a few for the Flat, jumps and point-to-points. . I'm from Nenagh, was involved with horses for years and took out my licence last year. I bought Paddy Neville's yard and am working out of that and have been friends with him and his family for years.
