It’s still going with a few new friends. The other horse was second. We were going to leave him to next week, but the lads are local. I thought he would have needed the run and expect him to improve. We’ve a few horses ready to go, we’ve been waiting for the rain. Hopefully, we can keep going because it’s been frustrating, we had a good few seconds earlier in the year. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bottom bend, involving Angels Instead, ridden by R.P

Cleary, unplaced, All Told, ridden by D. Browne McMonagle, placed fifth, Boutella (GB), ridden by L.T

McAteer, unplaced and Monzoon (GB), ridden by P. McGettigan, unplaced, where it appeared Angels Instead and Monzoon (GB) hit the railing. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Cleary stated that he was riding alongside the railing when he felt the railing kicked out at the turn and his mount shouldered into it. D. Browne McMonagle stated that there is a bit of an elbow in the railing and that he had to be mindful to stay out so as not to make contact with it. L.T. McAteer stated that his filly jinked in on top of Angels Instead at the point where the railing kinked out. P. McGettigan stated that he clipped the railing slightly when it kinked out, but felt that he had caused no interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
