Permission was given for Archduke Ferdinand (IRE) and Probe (GB) to go early to post; and for Dark Thirty (IRE) and Eye Of Dubai (GB) to both go early to post, wearing a red hood.

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Physique (IRE), ridden by Oisin Murphy and trained by Pam Sly which was ridden conservatively before making headway in the final furlong to finish fourth of nineteen runners, beaten a length and three quarters.

The rider and the trainer’s representative were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Veterinary Officer reported that two post-race examinations failed to reveal any abnormalities.

The rider stated his instructions were to get cover and try to get the gelding to relax.

Oisin Murphy added that having ridden Physique (IRE) previously at the Curragh he knew the gelding well and that it was a tricky ride, racing very keenly today in the early stages.

He further added that in hindsight having opted to switch right leaving the stalls, it may have been better to have gone left leaving the stalls and get cover from the far-side group which raced with more pace.

The rider further added that he had made his effort approaching the final furlong and, in his opinion, he was only staying on through beaten horses before finishing well into 4th place, and in his opinion, he had obtained the best possible placing.

The trainer’s representative confirmed these instructions reiterating that Physique (IRE) was a difficult ride and very fresh having been off for 169 days.

The trainer’s representative added that he was satisfied with the ride and that considering the horses absence since October 2024, he was pleased with Physique (IRE)’s performance today.

Their explanations were noted.

Approximately 1 furlong out, Havana Pusey (GB), placed second, shifted right-handed, causing Coachello (FR), unplaced, to be moved slightly off its intended line, which resulted in the rider of Woven (GB), unplaced, having to take a precautionary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Havana Pusey (GB).

An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out, involving Glenfinnan (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Connor Beasley and Archduke Ferdinand (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Dale Swift.

Swift was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps from preventing his horse from drifting left-handed causing Beasley to take a significant check.
