The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.P. Whelan, rider of Lambourn, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who said as he didn't make contact with what appeared to be the first strike. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards accepted the riders evidence and took no further action. Mr. T. Breen recused himself from this enquiry and was replaced as chairman by Mr. N.B. Wachman.
