It's not the first time that the American-bred chestnut has shaped like a winner before ultimately failing to deliver, as she's been done at 1.5, 1.18 and 1.34 when filling the runner-up spot on previous occasions. Dermot Weld's charge had worn a visor in the past, but it was blinkers for her last time, and though she's an obvious contender again, the three-year-old is hardly one to be supporting with any great confidence. The Makfi filly, GIRL OF THE HOUR, has a couple of nice runs to her name. She hasn't made an appearance since early July, but that's unlikely to be any impediment to her chance now. Jim Bolger's representative appeals as the one most likely to get the job done if Creme De La again loses out. Balcony, Cavelli, and the newcomers, Lady Mona Lisa and Mai O'Higgins, are others to keep in mind.
