An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving Haizoom (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Sam James; Yasmin From York (GB), placed third, ridden by Joanna Mason; and The Rutland Rebel (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty.
James was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed Haizoom (GB) to drift left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Yasmin From York (GB), which was briefly steadied off heels and in turn resulted in The Rutland Rebel (IRE) being slightly inconvenienced.
An enquiry was also held to consider interference entering the first bend involving The Rutland Rebel (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty and Twilight Prince (GB), unplaced, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa.
Garritty was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed towards the rail before being fully clear of Twilight Prince (GB) on his inside, resulting in De Sousa taking a check after running out of room.
A further enquiry was then held to consider more interference entering the first bend when Haizoom (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Sam James, interfered with Flint Hill (GB), placed second, ridden by Paul Hanagan.
James was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed Haizoom (GB) to edge left-handed to the rail when insufficiently clear of a very free-running Flint Hill (GB), causing Hanagan to steady in order to avoid his heels.
The performance of Twilight Prince (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Peter Bowen’s explanation that the gelding had ran flat on this occasion and this race may have come too soon for Twilight Prince (GB), after running 8 days previously, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
