Initial just holds on in Leopardstown opener
He battled well and he got a strong ride from Pat Smullen. He'll go for a Nursery now.
Raydara looks smart prospect
She did it well. She had a very good draw so there was no point not taking advantage of it. The plan was to jump out and if she found herself in front well and good,. She's a beautiful mover and has a high cruising speed. Shane said it was very hard to judge how fast he was going. I think she's just a smart filly. She has an entry for a Group 3 here next week but that might be a bit quick. She's also in the Debutante. She could be a smart filly. She loves fast ground, is very straight-forward and very professional.
Spirit sprints clear for impressive win
She's a lovely filly and is a full-sister to One Spirit. Hopefully she's that class and we'll take baby steps with her,. We'll keep her to that trip and she'll let me know when she's ready to run again. The Invincible Spirits aren't straight-forward sometimes and if she grows up mentally she's a very smart filly. Hopefully she takes tonight well and enjoys the experience so we can build on that.
Geoghegan back among the winners with Lord
Gary gave him a great ride. The tongue tie and the ground made a big difference and so did the trip. His owner (David Phelan) wants to go to Galway so that will be the next stop. He should get in now as he will go up a few pounds for that.
Halpin records his first double
The fast ground and the mile and a quarter suited him. He didn't particularly stay a mile and a half and he doesn't like heavy ground so he had conditions in his favour today.
Admirable Chance takes the Nasrullah
There is a little race in Naas for him next Wednesday for horses that have only won one weight for age race. He will be okay as he has been turned out quickly before and we can't pass up an opportunity. We will school him for the Champion Hurdle after that! I think he could be the real deal over jumps.
Mimosa shows her class in the Challenge
It was an excellent performance by her. She looked a little too well I thought. She was ten kilos up on her ideal racing weight. She holds the track record here over a mile and six when she beat Missunited in the Saval Beg last year. She did what we expected and she is a very, very high class race mare. I walked the track before racing and I was happy that it was safe. It was fast ground but safe. She is in the Ebor, she is one of the highest rated in it, and she also has an entry in the Lonsdale at York. She'll run in one or the other and she won the Galtres there two years ago.
