- Stewards Report
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong after the start, involving Johnny Boom (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Tony Hamilton; Dusk Art (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Paula Muir; Little Gem (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Frederick Larson and Harswell Princess (IRE), placed second, ridden by Callum Rodriguez.
The interference was found to be accidental as Johnny Boom (IRE) shifted quickly right-handed whilst racing greenly, hampering Dusk Art (GB) which in turn inconvenienced Little Gem (GB) and carried Harswell Princess (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Tom Mix (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Ivan Furtado’s comments that the gelding appreciated the application of first time cheekpieces and also benefitted from positive tactics to make the running on this occasion, was noted.
Tom Mix (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Charlie Wallis reported that Iesha (GB), placed eighth, was unsuited by the Fibresand surface.
