Gowran Park Fri, 12th Mar, 2021  Chenery I'm training out of Dungarvan and have a few horses mainly for point-to-points. I worked for John Kiely for years but I'm no relation. It probably took the run the last day to get her up to speed again and I was praying for the line to come. She deserved it as she's tough and genuine. My last winner on the track was Inchiquin High in a bumper. We were a long time waiting for this one but we won't complain. She might go to Cork in a few weeks' time, an 80-109 (rating) for qualified riders. My brother Richie owns her and won on her in a point-to-point so I'm sure he'd be anxious that she'd go there.

Punchestown Mon, 1st Mar, 2021  Stockdale I went very wide the whole way - I thought I was too wide, but it probably ended up being the best position as it was lovely fresh ground. In fairness to the mare she toughed it out and hopefully she can continue to progress in the future. She has just improved with every run. The last day she ran here she was a wee bit novicey jumping. She jumped a bit better there today. Bit further just helped with her jumping. Even though her price said 50/1 we did expect her to run respectable. I thought she would finish closer to Gordon's mare (Humble Glory) but I wasn't expecting her to win to be honest. Her jumping was a bit slicker there today and the trip has obviously helped her too. Jonny was saying the ground wasn't just as dead as you might have expected. He rode wide the whole way which was probably a help to her too. I think she would be better on a wee bit of better ground.

Punchestown Sun, 14th Feb, 2021  Shady Operator He did it well. He’s an experienced handicapper but it was his first time over the course. He’d taken well to the banks at home and Derek said he was very professional,.

Navan Fri, 18th Dec, 2020  Stoughan Cross It's fantastic to get a win with him, especially as his owner Jim Nevin is a local man. Hopefully that will put a smile on his face,. He likes Navan and has run well around here a few times. He seems to get his turn once a season, every season. Hopefully that's not it for this season because it's only his first run back, he's never won first time out but the horses are just in great form at the moment.

Navan Sat, 5th Dec, 2020  Clondaw Secret He’s a nice big, raw horse. I was toying with running him in the bumper today but I said I’d split them up. Jumping is probably his game. It’s great for Noel and Valerie Moran. They are the big sponsors today and are local people. It’s their first winner at Navan racecourse. I thought Jack (Kennedy) was very good on him. He let them all race away and had a go going to the last. If he got involved two out he would probably have got tired. There is only one winning post. He’s still very green. He might not be a graded horse and is probably more of a chaser.
