Killarney Thu, 20th Aug, 2026  Miners Bridge Miners Bridge had a grand run on his first run back from a layoff the last day and we had this race planned from a while, so I’m glad it came off. We fancied him well as he was working well and he’d have come on plenty from his recent run. He has always been a good horse but has had plenty of trouble and had finished second in a Tipperary chase last year, in a race which has worked out very well. If we get a clear run with him, he might win another one or two.

Killarney Thu, 20th Aug, 2026  Ladies Well We were hoping they'd go a good gallop as she stays going and she did that well. This is her grade and she is doing well at the moment. Cian Quirke and Philly Donovan are our regular jump riders but they both seem to get injured at the same time. We are very lucky to have Darragh (O'Keeffe) and Danny Gilligan as replacements, so we're never scarce for options. The syndicate is headed by former Tipperary hurler Lar Corbett, who previously had Mrs Crogh's Bar. They are a great group from Thurles, and include another Tipperary hurler Ger 'Redser' O'Grady.

Killarney Fri, 17th Jul, 2026  Ladies Well She’s been working better. We brought her over to Kelso and she jumped terrible, but the schooling did her good over there. She got no run the last day. She’s a much-improved mare this year. She jumped from fence to fence, and he said she loved it. She’s in at Wexford next Wednesday and she may go there again. If she’s alright, I don’t see why not.

Killarney Thu, 16th Jul, 2026  Run For Mahler She’s a good mare. We were hoping for a good run, but after the last day it was just hard to say. He thought there was no advantage to keeping out, she loves the good ground. We were happy with her all through the race. She’d be a strong enough stayer and she’s very genuine. It’s great to get it, they are lucky owners for me. I don’t know what programme there is for her, I’d say she wouldn’t be overly well handicapped either.

Kilbeggan Fri, 10th Jul, 2026  Paul's Dream I didn’t really give Harry any instructions, only to ride her the way Danny (son) rode her the last day (held up),. He jumped out and made all, I hadn’t any solid plan. He decided to do that and she won well. He said she was lucky at the second-last bend, that she was right down on her head. She took a long time. She was always showing that at home, but it took an age to get her strong enough. She’s very straightforward and very honest and would love ground even faster than that. We’re thinking of the mares' hurdle at Galway. We’ll see what she gets and if she has any chance of getting into the Galway Hurdle. I have my eye on America as well. Danny would know more about America than me. It’s a while since I’ve been there, back in Christopher Columbus’s time!

Ballinrobe Tue, 26th May, 2026  Paul's Dream I was a bit puzzled by her run at Killarney, because she detached herself before coming home well. For some reason, she seemed to sulk, but women can do that!. She's a good-ground filly and I'm hoping she might get into the mares' handicap hurdle at Galway. We might take in Killarney, or maybe Bellewstown, on the way. Danny rode a winner in Fair Hill (Maryland) last night and flew home and has got himself another winner now.

Clonmel Thu, 14th May, 2026  Hob's Angel Dan King was very good on her the last day, as she had been doing too much in her races, and afterwards said she was now ready to ridden amongst other horses. We were lucky to get Josh (Williamson) today, who is a chip off the old block. We bought this mare two years ago and Harry Willams, from New Ross, comes here quite often and part-owns this mare, so it is great for him.

Tramore Mon, 20th Apr, 2026  Ira Hayes We needed a change of luck as we've had a horrific April. This is probably his minimum trip and we had to force him a bit, which probably didn't suit him. He is really a galloping horse, but it was just the conditions of the race suited. We got our bit of luck and I'm delighted for the lads (Ira Hayes Partnership) seven-year-old, they've been very patient with him. He hit the line quite well, he wasn't tired or anything. Danny said that up in trip you'll see a better horse. Hopefully, there is fun to be had with him.

Cork Mon, 6th Apr, 2026  Journey With Me I’ve been trying to win this Jack Tyner-race for a long time as I knew Jack when he was riding, so it means a lot to win the race. Jack never rode for me but I often walked the point-to-point tracks in the north with him and his father Robert. They are a lovely family and he was a lovely lad. Journey With Me has been disappointing but my horses were sick from December to the end of January, and he was one of the sickest. He had run under a cloud since and I don’t think the heavy ground suited either. Often with these horses who were once high-class, they would have gone through a tough time to be high-class and it takes a pile to get them back. I’m just delighted to get him back and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that today’s race was over 2m4f. His Oldtown form in February had been rubbished but it has actually worked out well. He was bought to race in Aintree’s Foxhunters but we couldn’t get him there and while we will probably run in Punchestown now, I’d say three-miles isn’t really his distance. Hopefully he’ll go to Aintree next year.

Cork Mon, 6th Apr, 2026  River Vale I’ve had a couple of bad accidents in the last few years so your body kind of shuts down, and I put down a couple of bad nights after Thurles. A first-time-out horse backed in on top of me, knocked me over and ‘buried’ me. I got bruised all over, and the real injuries came in the sternum, ribs and collarbone areas. With the way the world is going and with people receiving treatment for various things, you’d be thankful it wasn’t worse. I’m used to the injuries and if I printed them, it would take a book, but I’m nearly gone to the stage now with one more thump, I’ll say goodbye. I rode out six horses this morning though.
