He needs three miles, obviously. He was a small bit leery, he thought about it for a few strides. I suppose he’ll mix it between hurdles and fences, he’s a good fun horse. He’s a bit quirky, even though he wants soft ground, he might travel a bit nicer on that better ground.

Cork Sat, 3rd Jan, 2026  Way Down South He won his maiden hurdle this time last year and we thought he’d progress from that, but he went backwards. . He just enjoys fences. He ran poorly in Limerick, and it was a gamble bringing him back so fast, but the cheekpieces helped, tongue-tie helped, the ground helped and dropping him back two furlongs helped. . He jumped well. Dan knows him and it does take a jockey to know him. I’m delighted and some of the owners (WDS Syndicate) are here as well.

Clonmel Tue, 2nd Dec, 2025  Great Island He had his ground as the day he previously won in Gowran, it was almost unraceable. He had a good run back following a break the last day and just improved a little bit from it,. We were confident enough coming here although these (William Hill Series) races are becoming very competitive as trainers are targeting them for the points. . We'll look at Limerick over Christmas next, as he loves heavy ground. If we got traditional Christmas ground, it would be right into his barrow.

He had some good form, he was second a few times but you can’t beat age. That’s his game anyway, he jumped great for his first time out. I’ll play it by ear now. The three-milers are hard to find and he’ll have to prove himself to be a graded horse before we think of that.

Galway Sun, 26th Oct, 2025  Hees Dynamite We felt he was in really, really great shape today and he was fit as a flea. Patrick  gave him a really confident ride and it was a good performance. My son Conor had been very impressed with Patrick all along, he has always been a fan and has been plugging for me to give him rides. He rides really well and is great value for his 5lb claim. We'll try and follow up in something similar in a few weeks time and he can mix and match between hurdles and fences.

Punchestown Tue, 14th Oct, 2025  Pourquoi Poi He’s a grand horse. We always liked him but he was a very weak horse,. David and Albert Broad recommended him to us, they bought him privately and told us he was a nice horse. I was looking for a horse for Paddy. We ran him a few times and then gave him a break. He’s just gotten stronger. He’ll be a much better chaser, I think, in time. He’s a lucky horse so far, I know he’s only won today. I wasn’t surprised he won, he shows us plenty. He’s young but we’ll definitely run him again. He does get a little bit worried and panicky so if there are any signs he's not doing well, we’ll pull the plug. I’d say he definitely won’t be running in January anyway.

Listowel Sat, 27th Sep, 2025  El Champo that win is very special and, I keep saying it, but Oliver and Marie (Barden) are amazing owners to me. They are unbelievable and every year when I need a dig out or when I find a horse which isn’t massively expensive, they keep going and buying. Their appetite for jumps racing is just incredible and they are a lovely family. His jumping was brilliant today but hadn’t always been that way. Simon (Torrens) gave him an unbelievable ride around Tramore the last day where the fences are smaller, and I think he got a lot of confidence from it. When I tell Tiernan (Power Roche) to pop off and make the running it is scary, as he is so positive and so accurant over a fence. He is an extraordinarily talented young fella, so I’m delighted to have both him and Simon on our own little team.
