His trip is three and a-half (miles) plus. He had a lovely run in the Porterstown and it worked out very well. Just had no luck with him after that. He ran well the last day, but he was due that win. When you go back through his form, it was pretty good. Without a doubt (going out in trip) - you won't get too many races over three miles, two (furlongs). There is one coming back here. and Danny said he might get into the Kerry National. He was third as a novice in Punchestown over nearly four miles. It is great to get it.

Wade Out
I thought he’d win the National Hunt Chase but he laughed at me for the whole three miles and five furlongs, so we sent him back over hurdles and put a set of blinkers on and he’s turned a competitive field into a rout. I thought he might win but not in that fashion. He’s a horse who has always had loads of ability. We’ll train him as a staying hurdler now, he’s not over-big so jumping fences has probably been a big effort for him. We all want winners here. I huffed and puffed yesterday and didn’t get anywhere, so it’s great to get a winner today.

My Immortal
We ran him in Galway in October and it’s usually bottomless there but I ran three horses there and they all came back jarred. I ran him back in Leopardstown and the ground was grand for horses that want good ground, but he just didn’t like it, minded himself and pulled himself up. Last year we had a couple of horses, him and Hgranca De Thaix, that were never right. The way that he’s been working at home I was expecting a big run from him today. All we needed was the ground. He’d stay any trip. I’ll probably enter him for the Midlands National. He’s going to get 10lb for that so that would make him 135 and he’d probably get in off bottom weight. We are going to run out of places for soft ground fairly soon. I might stick him in the Leinster National as well, that closes next week. He could be one for the Welsh National next year. Finny gave him an unbelievable ride, he got him into some rhythm. It’s great to have him in the yard, Sean rides most of them but we try to give Finny as many chances as we can.

Staffordshire Knot
It is a lucky race for us. Navan is a great track and we love it here. It’s great to win it again,. I thought it was a good performance by Staffordshire Knot and he had fitness on his side. We couldn’t get him to finish races last year but this year he has just turned the corner. Even looking at him, he is a different horse. We’re very happy with his run. He’s qualified for the Pertemps in Cheltenham, so he could end up somewhere like that. We’ll see as there are Grade Twos and Grade Threes around Ireland that he could pick up a cheque in every day.
