Clonmel Thu, 8th Jan, 2026  I Walked The Line He is brilliant to jump, made one mistake which was my fault - but I liked him. We finished a long way clear of the third. We have been trying to replace Billaway and I had Cause For Comment last year who didn't quite measure up, so I got this horse and I'm hoping to make him into a Billaway-type horse. Being by Walk In The Park attracted me to him, as I love those, and he is for sale to stay in the yard. Cormac Doyle, who is fairly sharp, recommended him strongly and said he was weak in his first few runs before winning a point-to-point on his fourth start. I'll look to a winners' of one hunters chase next and maybe aim him for the Ladies Cup at Punchestown then and afterwards to Stratford. Next year, as a six-year-old, I'd hope to work towards Cheltenham.

Leopardstown Mon, 29th Dec, 2025  Walks In June He’s a horse we’ve always liking. He was disappointing in Navan, and I’d say the ground didn’t help him. It was a competitive race, he winged hurdles and I’m delighted with him. He’s had three runs (this season) and we might start looking at March. He’s quite a big, light-framed horse so maybe a month easy now and come back for the spring. He’s learning all the time and thanks to Colin Bowe who recommended him.

Leopardstown Mon, 29th Dec, 2025  Frankie John I love the horse, but when he got to the front he was a bit lairy. I knew we’d have to dig deep to be involved never mind win. I think he can win staying hurdles and he’ll be exciting to go chasing next year. I have to thank John Mahon and my parents who were offered plenty of money for him. It wasn’t enough for them, and they wanted to enjoy racing him. It’s important for me to have a horse like him in the yard and thanks to them for letting me ride him. I haven’t been riding all year and I’m still not one hundred per cent fit. I rode a couple during the week just to get my eye rightly in. He’s exciting and it’s good to have him.

Limerick Sun, 28th Dec, 2025  Final Demand He jumped fantastic but was very lairy on his own in front. I looked through my legs after the third last and saw that something had obviously gone amiss with Danny (Mullins aboard stablemate Jimmy Du Seuil). After that it was just a case of getting him home. At the last I said ‘just don’t do anything silly’ and he came back and was very good. He was like riding an armchair. I wanted to be going a stride faster all the way as I thought Jimmy Du Seuil might be a faster horse. Going down the back the last time I asked him to go on and he did. I wish I could have gone around again!. I think in a more competitive race he’ll travel better. He was so lazy today which is great.

Thurles Sat, 20th Dec, 2025  Lennon Grove She is a quick mare, they sprinted today, and she has loads of gears and stayed going really well. It was a nice performance,. Derek had her for point-to-points, so thanks to him, as he recommended that we got her for the track and I'm delighted for the owners (Silverpark Racing Partnership). We might go straight over hurdles now, she jumps really well and I'd say she will settle better over hurdles as well.

Naas Mon, 15th Dec, 2025  Oldschool Outlaw You should never be afraid of one and if you were afraid of one every day, you’d never run. In Ireland you can’t duck and dive - there is no hiding place. I thought it was a good performance albeit we had fitness on our side. Jack said she wasn’t for passing and said she was very gutsy. He felt she was in front too soon. I think she’ll be better over a bit further. We knew she was jumping well at home and she had a couple of runs in point-to-points.

Fairyhouse Sun, 30th Nov, 2025  Better Times Ahead Jumping the last I was confident, but the other horse must have been idle because when he got to him, he picked up again. It was close when they got to the line. It was great to get a pot like that with him because he’s been a bit fragile. Ger Kelly has a good bit of work done with him over the years. Touch wood he’s in good order this year and we’ve had no problems with him. He was hampered at the third-last, the horse fell in front of him, and he was shuffled back a small bit. There was a good strong gallop all the way and it helped.

Thurles Thu, 20th Nov, 2025  Mullaghgloss The only thing I was worried about was the two miles, as he wants 2m4f or three. Adam jumped out and kept it simple and the horse jumps well. For a Walk In The Park, he only cost E13,000 at the Landrover Sale and he has now won a bumper and maiden hurdle. He's not a bad horse to have. If he had been beaten today we were thinking about leaving him until next summer but we'll look for a rated novice now. He goes on any ground. The owners have had Flat winners with me but this is their first jump horse. We'll have to get them another one.

Navan Mon, 17th Nov, 2025  Classical Creek He's a nice horse. It wasn't ideal making the running. Jack said he was very idle in front and he would be way better with a lead, but he showed a good attitude and you would be very happy. We'll look at Christmas for him all being well. He's a stayer, he'll definitely stay further. You'll probably see him stepping up to three miles at some stage. That's (chaser) exactly what he will be down the road.

Navan Sun, 16th Nov, 2025  Oldschool Outlaw I like her now, she's tough, has a good attitude and wants to win. She'll be better when she gets a jump in front of her. We will probably go jumping sooner than later, I'd imagine.

Navan Sun, 16th Nov, 2025  Final Demand It was (scintillating), he was just so natural, wasn't he? Jumping down the back watching him taking fences in his stride. I got a little worried coming to the third-last that he was getting a little tired and I thought Jack (Kennedy on Wingmen) was getting a little closer. When they were over the third-last, Paul just gave him a squeeze and a shake, and next thing he just started opening up again. His jumping was so natural, it was fantastic. He looked it (real deal) at this minute. I mean that is just a beginners' chase, but it was still a deep enough beginners' chase. I'm hoping there is still plenty of improvement in him. He wouldn't have been wound up for today or anything. On to Christmas maybe, Dublin Racing Festival, and fingers crossed after that.

Down Royal Sat, 1st Nov, 2025  Firefox In fairness, he had been competing at the top end the whole time but (that was) a good performance. I thought Jack gave him a very, very good ride and just landed him there at the right time. Nice to win. He’s a good horse, but the problem is you are always taking on those really good horses the whole time.

Down Royal Fri, 31st Oct, 2025  Splashing Out It was (drop of rain was very welcome) because to be honest coming up the road there, we weren't sure that we were going to be running. I was happy enough it was safe for her. It is great to start off the season with a win. We had a frustrating time with her last season, she was a bit in and out. She can be a little bit tricky and she has come out the wrong side in photo finishes before, so she is not winning out of turn. She's a well-bred mare and it is nice to get the win with her.

Wexford Mon, 27th Oct, 2025  Fleur In The Park He was only about 80% fit in Gowran (second on chase debut). He wasn't ready there. He cantered down to the third-last and just blew up. We knew he'd improved a lot. . Henry de Bromhead (trains Gowran winner Taponthego) said to me that he is a two-miler and he could be right. He could be just a two-mile chaser as he jumps so well. To get over a beginners chase in Ireland is a hard thing. The runner-up is rated145. . We could go travelling with him. Somewhere like Ascot, where there is a lot of jumping. We won't run him for a month anyway. I didn't want to tempt faith and make a plan before today.  . We always thought he'd be better over fences and hopefully he will be. He used to jump hurdles too big.  . I was actually not going to run him today because of the ground. I was going to run him in a Grade 3 at Cork on Sunday over two-and-a-half. They are probably as easy to win as a beginners chase.  . We'll make a plan now after this and it's nice to have him.

Wexford Sun, 26th Oct, 2025  Uhavemeinstitches It's great to get a winner, it's been a while since we had one. Mark gave her a lovely ride. He said they went very quick in front and he felt it just fell apart.  . She is a nice mare going forward. She is a little bit babyish and made one or two novicey mistakes, which I didn't think she would, but I suppose they were going a good speed and it was her first time over fences. . It was a race for horses rated 120 or less over hurdles, so a lot of the higher class horses were ruled out. We'll have to see where she fits in as the season goes on. . She is a nice filly to have and it's great to have a winner for JP. . She has a lot of similarities (to her dam). She's a lot slicker over hurdles than her dam was. She is designed to be a chasing filly and the family does get further. Around here is a quick two-and-a-half and you'd like to think a bigger galloping track would suit her.  . We don't want to be getting too carried away because it's the start of the season and there is a lot of good horses to come out yet. We'll have a look at what's coming up and have a chat with Frank (Berry).  . We just wanted to get today out of the way and get the experience into her.

Galway Sat, 25th Oct, 2025  Sportinthepark The whole plan was obviously to go back chasing with him and the plan now is to go to the Troytown. I didn't want to run him in today's earlier chase as if he won he'd have risked picking up a penalty, so I said we might as well have a run over hurdles where he is rated 15lb lower. He had a setback after his last run and when I got him back later in the season, it was too late to run. He has grown up, matured and grown a lot stronger as he had been a big shell of a horse. His owner Philip Polly is in Dubai so hopefully he is watching on TV.

Limerick Sun, 19th Oct, 2025  Walks In June He is a nice horse who was very raw. He ran very well in a bumper at Leopardstown last Christmas and was disappointing at Fairyhouse. We have liked him at home and Darragh said he'd come on plenty. He is a big jumping horse and he is coming at the right time now for this job. We'll dip into a novice now and see where he is at. The dream is still alive and he will come on plenty from today and a step up in trip will also suit. There haven't been many schooling races run, with the ground being so good, so often ours would go for schooling hurdles but a few, including him, hadn't. With these extra runs you need nowadays (to qualify for certain races) we are probably starting him a bit sooner, so I'm delighted with him.

Limerick Sun, 19th Oct, 2025  Chosen Comrade It was a little bit of a relief and while I always liked her, I can't say she shows up massively at home. The way she did it today, you couldn't but be impressed. We only had her a couple of months before her bumper, which was a big turnaround coming from Gary's (Murphy). It was a bit of a gamble to go for a bumper but it worked out and coming here today, she was as fit as we could have her but she'll improve from it. Hopefully she ends up being a nice filly for those good mares' races. I think she is a graded mare, as she has plenty of pace and her jumping is good. Paul (Leech) has been lucky but knows more about racing that any of us. He is based in America but in fairness he has never missed either a strong bit of 'work' or a race. We went through a long list of horses before buying this mare and he went through his statistics and picked her. No doubt he will have a list of things after today so we'll work something out.

Thurles Thu, 16th Oct, 2025  Alright Darling She is an honest mare and carried her lightest weight ever today. Philly (Donovan) thought he was coming back at the leaders at the last, and in fairness, she did gallop away from the rest of the field. She is by Walk In The Park and her dam is a sister to (Cheltenham Gold Cup winner) Lord Windermere so it is a good pedigree. She was bought to go breeding, that'll be her job and we'll see where we go from here.
