Punchestown Fri, 1st May, 2026  Avalo Last year, in fairness, he always ran great races. On his second run at Wexford last year he travelled so well around there with Jake Coen and I was keen to drop him back to two miles and get in here. Seamus Perry and Brian Larkin bought into him and it’s worked out great for them. To come to the Punchestown festival and get a winner is brilliant. Our lad has been known as a weak finisher and a bridle horse but he dug deep today. He’ll tip away for a couple more handicaps and he’ll end up being a nice chaser.

Gowran Park Thu, 22nd Jan, 2026  Marelly Tiernan was very positive and I keep telling everyone that he, Simon (Torrens), Dylan (Robinson) and all the lads at home are big assets to me and I have real men riding for me,. I told Tiernan to kick on, never take a pull and if he was travelling to leave him travel. I couldn't believe he was getting such an easy lead. He loves heavy ground which I had struggled to get with him, and I stuck blinkers on today. He is in an online auction for ThoroughBid next week and if he isn't sold, he'll go handicap chasing. He is also in at Limerick on Tuesday, so we'll see. I thought today was his day and I felt he was my best chance of the day. What a great day to get a winner again.
