Ballinrobe Fri, 11th Sep, 2026  Luck Between Us I told Niall to be handy and, if there was no pace, to let him on. I had my eye on Niall for a long time, he's a good claimer and rides to instructions as much as possible. He said he hung left all the way, and he probably got beat in Sligo for going left after the last, so he might be a better horse at a left-handed track. We'll see what the handicapper does, but he jumps fences well, so we have that option too. He's a straightforward horse at home, my daughter Aibhe rides him, but he gets a bit fresh when he comes racing. He'll handle soft ground, but not winter soft. I've about 18 or 19 in training, and have a couple of nice unraced mares to come out.

Galway Wed, 29th Jul, 2026  Mighty Berkshire That was brilliant. We got his wind done and I thought he had a nice run back in Kilbeggan,. I said I’d wait for this race and it worked out. I’m owed an apology off his owners. I went to Benidorm with a few of them and they were calling him a few names!

Killarney Thu, 16th Jul, 2026  Luck Between Us Better ground was a big help and he just needed to brush up a bit on his jumping, he was very green for handicaps. He did plenty of schooling at home. He’s a fine big horse and he’ll jump a fence. He loves good ground, so hopefully he’ll have a good summer campaign.

Roscommon Tue, 30th Jun, 2026  Thatwilldoso This was the plan and it was important,. She wasn’t coming into form and we gave her a run last week over a mile-and-five and she stayed the trip. It was a good run the last day and she likes this track, she needs an uphill finish and she needed every bit of it. It’s an important race to win for the jockey and I go back a long way with the Clearys. Tom and Kathleen ran the pony racing for long enough back in the early 2000s. We’re around a long time. It’s not a big race, but it’s an important one to win for them. Plans don’t often come off, but the filly was tough at the line and Rory knows her so well. It’s great for Rory, Tom and Kathleen and for Paul. It’s great for them all.

In Clonmel when she finished fifth she was in season the next morning. The last day she backed it up and today she put it all to bed. She digs deep. Hopefully now she’ll go on to bigger and better things. We’ll have to go for a maiden hurdle with her now, we’ll give her a little bit of a break. I’d say she’ll go on any ground. She has a bit of size to her and she’s a well-bred filly. Hopefully she can improve again. Hopefully we can get her name in the paper somewhere on a big day.
