Punchestown Thu, 30th Apr, 2026  Blue Mosque I was standing beside my nephew David Wright, who is a very lucky guy for me. When he stands beside me we have a winner every time!. He said to me halfway down the back ‘how are you going?’ and I said ‘I’d need a tin opener to get out of where we are!’ He got the tin opener working alright. We’ve rode her forward before and Donagh said the last day he was going to ride her from behind as he thought she’d be better off when ridden that way. She ran a helluva good race then. He said today that he was going to do the same thing as she enjoys passing horses. It was a great watch, when they get there. It’s an amazing family. Her breeder Christopher McKeever started off with a little mare who wasn’t much good, although she was probably unlucky not to win a race. Everything she’s bred has been incredibly lucky.

Fairyhouse Sun, 5th Apr, 2026  Colcannon To be honest he’s been very disappointing up until now.  . I’d say ground is a lot to do with it and when he gets it a bit quicker he’ll be even better. . On what he did last year you’d be kind of expecting him to be one of the top horses around this year but his couple of runs have been very disappointing. It’s taken him a while to learn how to jump as well. The reason he spent a second season in bumpers was because he was such a poor jumper. . He’s just getting the hang of it now. The last was the only mistake, he jumped brilliant up until that. . Donagh was saying the ground made a huge difference to him. We’ll be able to continue on with him for the summer.
