Epona Plays I thought she was a decent filly last year and she ran a cracking race in Leopardstown. It’s taken her a while to get going but she loves it here. She’s progressing well and they went a proper gallop. Billy said she was just behind the bit lovely all the way, and when he asked her she was always going to respond. He said she did it snugly in the end. I delighted for the owner/breeders Renzo Forni and his daughter Raffaello. That’s the fourth of that family that have won for me and the three fillies have all got black type. She had a little niggle earlier in the year that we have sorted out and she’s coming on the whole time. She’s a lovely scopey filly and goes on any ground.

Cayenne Pepper That's the real Cayenne Pepper, I don't know what we were doing going a mile-and-a-half with her!. Shane said the way she won there you'd think she'd get a mile-and-a-half no problem but she just doesn't quite see it out. We had a lot of problems with her in the spring and I thought today was the first day she actually looked strong in the paddock. She didn't grow last year and did all her growing in the spring and we had problem after problem. It's sad that Jon Kelly wasn't around to see her but he'll be up there looking down on her. He passed away a week after the Oaks. It's lovely for her to win but it's a bit emotional. We might go to America with her for Sarah to see her, providing everything is okay. She is invited to the QE II in Keeneland three weeks prior to the Breeders Cup so she could go there and then stay over for the Breeders Cup. We'll let the dust settle and see how she is this week.

Ace Aussie He’s a gorgeous horse. He has a massive frame and, like the last filly (Loch Lein), whatever he does this year he’s going to be even better next year. He’s got entries in Royal Lodge and the Beresford, and if he comes out of this okay he’ll go to one of them, but it will be just one more run this year and then we’ll put him away for next year. After he ran he grew on us and we just gave him a break to let him furnish off a bit more. And we had the other horse (Phoenix winner Lucky Vega) and he was in no rush with him. Roca Roma It's good to get her back. We freshened her up since her last two quick runs. It was a tough ask in the Pretty Polly and we ran her back a bit soon in Killarney thinking we'd give her a confidence booster. She ran a bit flat there. She's fresh now. She's gone through that ground due to her class and Colin also went on the fresh ground. She took herself into the race lovely. We knew she wanted a cut in it but no horse wants that heavy ground. That's as bad as I've seen in Leopardstown for many a year, although it's no fault of anyone. We're delighted to give her a confidence booster there. We'll take her home and freshen her up now. Hopefully we might find black-type for her on Champions weekend, we'll have to look at the program. It's all about black-type now. She was a Guineas filly in our eyes and she's still a group horse for us.

Epona Plays She deserved that. She's a grand filly and it's great for Renzo Forni, that's the fourth one of the family I've trained and they've all won for me,. The other two fillies were black-type so if we could try and get this one some black-type before the end of the year as well it would be brilliant. I was trying to be greedy at the start of the year a couple of times but finally she's won and I'm delighted. She's still learning the trade. Billy was happy with her there, he said she galloped all the way to the line and liked that ground so we won't be too worried about the end of the year with her. I think she has enough experience now so we'd only be wasting her in a winners race and might try and nab some black-type wherever we can. She's had three hard races in the last three or four weeks so I won't be too greedy now.

Patrick Sarsfield Declan said it was just a nice gallop but he travelled lovely and when the gap came he quickened up really well and did it like a good horse. He just has that one kick and then gallops but you have to hand it to him what he's done in his last three runs. He seems to have improved every time.

Patrick Sarsfield Declan said he was quite keen today, that a horse just sat on his backside the whole way and he was nearly too keen early. He said he got into a rhythm and he just kept filling him up. He said he picked up nicely and he's galloped the whole way to the line today. He had to work today but it was a very competitive race and it was good money (50k to the winner). That's only the sixth race of his life and he's a big horse so hopefully he'll keep improving. I not sure where Joseph will go with him but hopefully he'll end up getting black-type somewhere. He's won a nice pot so it's good for the owners. Brendan Powell, representing

Aunt Bee It's great they put that on as an extra race!. She's a lovely filly and she had a lovely run at Naas. There's not much of her but she's got a big heart. He got into a lovely lead there as he had the prime draw there and he couldn't give it away. It's lovely for her owner/breeder David Reid Scott who isn't too well. He was in the Mater for a year and he's in rehab in Dun Laoghaire now. Like the other filly earlier she'll probably go for a winners of one and then try her in a Listed race as they are owner/breeders again.

Leo De Fury he’s (Leo De Fury) really exciting; we thought a lot of him last year and the ground was a bit soft for him at the backend in Longchamp but he’s wintered really well and I can’t believe he’s won so easy there. Shane said he just dropped him in. I thought there was something wrong as they went so hard and he was so far back but the way he got there he looks like a proper horse. I’d say the Tattersalls Gold Cup will be his next aim. We’ll give him a bit of time between his races.
