Navan Wed, 2nd Sep, 2026  Make The Tide Make The Tide is home-bred by Dave and Sarah Hyland of Oghill Stud so I’m delighted. She’s actually very well-bred and is a half-sister to Hopewell Rock, who was narrowly denied in the Ebor. She’s by a good sire (Make Believe) as well. She was always weak and Billy said every time he rode her to let her strengthen up. I don’t know if she’s going to strengthen up much more, she’s that kind of build. We’ll see what the handicapper does and look for something similar. I’d say she won’t mind a bit of easier ground.

Roscommon Mon, 31st Aug, 2026  Miss Romagna That was lovely. She’s my first runner for Giampiero Vellucci so I’m delighted. He was just on there and he’s absolutely thrilled. He’s a solicitor in Italy. She’s a big weak filly and the more time we gave her, the more she has strengthened up. She has always shown ability. I was a bit worried that the track here might be a bit tight for her. She was on the front end and Billy dictated. I thought he got it spot on. She met a bit of trouble the last day, but I think she was a bit weak and was wandering. Today, she had her ears pricked everywhere and was enjoying it. She’s not really a handicap-type filly. We’ll try and snatch a bit of black type with her. She’s a big filly and I don’t think she’ll suit handicaps, she’s not mentally there yet. Smaller fields will suit her.

Kilbeggan Sat, 8th Aug, 2026  Convincing He winged hurdles and was good and tough to the line. I’d say you could even step him up in trip. He was disappointing, we thought we’d have one won on the Flat before now. Hopefully a hurdle will just bring him to life. On his first run in a handicap, around here, it was a good performance to be able to do that over two miles. To be fair to him, every time I asked him for a jump he came for me. Hopefully onwards and upwards. He’ll have a good party tonight anyway!

Galway Wed, 29th Jul, 2026  Cock And Bull It was great. He had a nice run the last day in the Curragh and it was nice to be able to step up from it,. We’d originally thought that he might scrape into the Connacht Hotel on the Monday night, but the ratings were a bit higher this year. He was spot on for today and it was great to see him stick his neck out. He’s a very tough and genuine horse. He’s a pleasure. The horses are running well. We’ve had a second and a few thirds and it’s great to get one on the board. It’ll take a bit of pressure off for the rest of the week.

Leopardstown Thu, 11th Jun, 2026  Abbey Actress Abbey Actress deserves that, it was a perfect race and she loves soft ground. We recently tried to get black-type with her and I think, one day, her heart might get her a stakes-placing. When she hits the front, she pricks her ears but she is all heart, tries really hard and deserved that today.

Wexford Wed, 27th May, 2026  Rich Belief He’s only had four runs over hurdles since he won a good pot in Kelso. Every year he’d win on the Flat. He was never going down but he’d just improve a little bit to win. You could set your clock by him as he’d always win once a year. He’s getting a bit older and I’d said I’d chance it. I don’t like running in claimers but he’s at that age and going back to a handicap he’s going to be in no man’s land. He enjoyed that and when he’s enjoying things he can do it very easy. These races give those older horses a chance of going and doing something again. The fact that he had a couple of runs on the Flat, going back over hurdles then he’s just that bit sharper. He travelled a bit easier in the race. I’m delighted with him.
