Naas Mon, 3rd Aug, 2026  Zheleznaya Dama She deserved that, she’s been running really well,. said Duke. I might have made a mistake turning her out quickly at Killarney. It’s so difficult with these low-grade horses finding races for them. A mile is her trip. I thought I might get away with six-and-a-half in Limerick and it probably cost me the race in Killarney. It was a little bit quick turnaround. I thought she ran her heart out in Killarney. I kind of have it in my head for her, the juvenile hurdle on the 27th of December in Leopardstown. I won it with Leagan Gaeilge (2019). She’s a very good jumper and she would appreciate an ease in the ground. If I want to go to Leopardstown on Amy’s (daughter) birthday I need to have a fairly good reason. We’re having a good run at the moment, thank God, it’s a big relief. People are actually thinking that I’m not a complete muppet now at the moment!

Down Royal Sat, 20th Jun, 2026  Chica Guerrera It is great to see her rewarded. She has been running well in good pots and good handicaps as well. She was always going to do that, win a decent pot and it is great we got it today. The lads (Trouble & Strife Syndicate) came up from Kilkenny. It is great for them and she is a good filly. They enjoy her and knock good craic out of her. Ronan was excellent on her, and he is after twinning the Derby and the Oaks!. We'll see where we go after that, there's plenty of those fillies' handicaps as well too. We will try and keep her to them if we can, see what the handicapper does. She did win well, but she loves that ground. She has won in Gowran Park on soft ground, and she has won on a cut in the ground in Tramore as well. When everything falls right for her, she can be good. She was third in a premier handicap and was placed a good few times, and she is a good, sound filly.

Gowran Park Fri, 12th Jun, 2026  Queen Aethelflaed She done that nicely. We had two of them in it and I thought the two of them had a chance. They have to run in these races. It's not ideal taking on each other, but sure what can you do? . She ran well the last day. Orla gave her a nice ride. She's off to Fairyhouse now, she has another ride there.

Fairyhouse Fri, 5th Jun, 2026  Alto Sax He’s after drifting down the handicap and I think the step up to a mile and a-quarter probably helped him a bit more today. Reese Holohan is flying it and taking a few pounds off him is a help. He's starting to get a bit smarter out of the stalls, he was giving away a lot of races with slow breaks. Shane Foley (on Miss Americana) slowed up the race in front today and he was able to get into it. He picked up in the straight. He’ll keep tipping away in those low-grade handicaps.

Gowran Park Tue, 5th May, 2026  Shaws Bay He’s a nice horse. He ran very well the first day, probably would have needed the run a little bit. He has come forward in his work,. I’d say he appreciated the better ground. Ben said he was winning well and he idled a little bit in front. I think he’s a horse that should improve with a bit of racing. I think seven furlongs is a good trip for him. I’m delighted the way the horses are going, they are all improving from one run to the next. That’s his second run so he should get a mark now. We’ll see if there is a three-year-old premier handicap for him.

Sligo Sun, 3rd May, 2026  County Carlow He was quick out of the gates the last day and just didn't see it out. It was trainer error to step him up to a mile from seven (furlongs) then, and back here today over a stiff six, he's done it well. He was drawn 16 on debut and he came on a lot from the run. He's a six/seven furlong horse. We'll see what rating he gets and maybe look for a winners' race.

Curragh Fri, 3rd Apr, 2026  Galileo Noir Galileo Noir is a good horse and it’s easier when they are good! At Naas the last day, he arrived into contention going really easy, but blew up and just got tired. I was a bit worried that the trip (1m1f) might be too far, but they went steady. He has loads of boot and Colin said we could bring him back to a mile, but I’d say a mile-and-a-quarter will suit him well. He has quite a nice pedigree, and he’s a good-looking horse who probably likes that ground as well. It’s great to win and we’ll just take one day at a time with him. We’ll enjoy that and see where we go from there.

Nicola is a great rider and she is very strong in the likes of those races, so it is great to get her. He'll have to switch to turf with the way things are. With him, I think things just have to fall his way. He's probably not one that battles and makes things happen. He'll tip away at turf.

Limerick Tue, 31st Mar, 2026  Shirzan Her homework had been very good and we've been happy with her previous runs. It all came together today. Her bumper run is working out very well, and that was on ground which we didn't think she was a fan of. Even today, we didn't think she'd love that ground but she is progressing well. She has a nice turn of foot and the plan today was to run along the rail and to wait for gaps to appear. She went straight into the gap and appeared to have plenty in the tank at the end. It was nice to get it and I wish they were all that easy!. We'll see what rating she gets now and hopefully there'll be nice handicaps to be won with her. She can run through the summer.
