Thurles Thu, 8th Oct, 2026  King Christoph He ran green in Listowel and came forward, so it was lovely. He is a bit fresh in himself, so I might run him again in a nursery in Leopardstown before the season ends. Sean (Greaney, owner from Limerick) is with us a year now and it is grand to get him a winner. He had some good horses years ago but had hard luck in between, so it is nice to train him our first winner together. Sean picked him out himself (for €13,000), so I can't take any credit for that.

Navan Wed, 7th Oct, 2026  Expert Dancer She was unlucky in Galway, she got stopped coming up the hill. A nice filly. She got an injury and was away in surgery in Fethard for two weeks - she got a nail up to the frog of her hoof and she was very lucky to be back racing. It was touch and go for a few days. They did a great job to get her back. We might leave her off now. I think she will be a lovely filly for the Lincoln. She loves soft ground and I think I might put her away. Willie's filly (Mullins, Rebel Wave) that won at Champions Weekend (Leopardstown)- she beat her in a maiden in Limerick, so she had form.

Wed, 7th Oct, 2026  Expert Dancer She was unlucky in Galway, she got stopped coming up the hill. A nice filly. Killarney Mon, 5th Oct, 2026  Suir Monad He has been promising to do that for a while as he is a decent horse, who had been a little disappointing up until now. We thought he’d have won before now and, hopefully now, he’ll step on from here. He is a nice horse. He did it well today and got a grand ride from Sam. He has been lightly raced up until now and while he’s in that vein of form, we’ll definitely get him out again.

Gowran Park Sat, 3rd Oct, 2026  Sir Allen He was a very good juvenile hurdler who also won a few Flat races, but was going through the motions recently, so we started schooling him over fences, which seemed to ignite him. He'll keep going over fences and will go on softer ground as well. We'll look for a rated novice chase now. It was a nice winning spare for Phily, who rides out for me.

Gowran Park Sat, 3rd Oct, 2026  Fleur In The Park Cian said he dragged his shoulder getting up on Fleur In The Park and I'd say he popped his shoulder. When you win a Grade 1 as a novice, you'd think it would be hard to win a race this season, but this is grand and he was only 80 or 85% fit today. Cian said he had a blow at the final fence, although he was fitter than I thought he was. It was a good performance as he gave weight to race-fit Blood Destiny, who was rated 156. We'll either go for the John Durkan (Punchestown) or the race in Down Royal (BetVictor Envoi Allen Champion Chase) next and then maybe the King George (Kempton). We'll see as we go along and he'll have three races before Christmas, and three after. He would love Kempton as he has pace for 2m4f and stays three miles. We'll dream away and see, and the next day will tell us a lot. Margaret's (O'Rourke, owner) husband Padraig is from up the road and is a racecourse director, but isn't here today as he isn't well at the moment, so this is a tonic.

Cork Tue, 29th Sep, 2026  El Domino He is a lovely horse but was weak and immature,. He had two weeks on the walker after his run the last day, due to sore shins, and that's him finished now for the year. We'll geld him during the week. His owner Noel McElholm is 87 and couldn't make the trip today. He previously had Poppadom with us, so replaced him with this horse. He is just very immature and will be a lovely three-year-old. It is grand to get this win into him.

Roscommon Mon, 28th Sep, 2026  Ladies Well we were a bit disappointed the last day, when she was a bit slowly away and missed the first fence, although were delighted to see trainer Val O’Brien winning the race. She did that well today, has to have good ground and to be ridden like that. She’s a brilliant jumper. The boys (Mrs Crogh's Syndicate, which includes former Tipperary hurler Lar Corbett) would like a day out so we might go to one of those meetings in Cheltenham off a light weight. Down Royal gets good ground and could be an option, but the boys like Cheltenham!

We thought he'd win at the Punchestown Festival on his debut run so were disappointed, although he got a bit excited and ran too keen. He then got wiped out at Roscommon, where he'd have won, and then won the last day. He will go eating grass now as he's had four runs as a four-year-old, and won't be seen until next spring.

We got him back and he was ready but we thought he did might just need the run. He’s a nice horse. This is a great tonic for Tom Marr, his wife and her sister Mairead, as Mairead is the grandmother of Kaitlyn (Ryan), who got the fall recently so that’s a bit of a help.

Listowel Mon, 21st Sep, 2026  Lauderdale King He is a grand horse and is a big four-year-old. I was a bit afraid of the ground drying out, as he wants soft ground,. He gave him a lovely ride, kept it simple and he enjoyed it. I'll run him again on soft ground up until the end of the Flat season, and then give him a break for the winter. I was going to run him over hurdles earlier in the year, but he'll make a lovely novice hurdler next summer. He is owned by brothers-in-law Pat Morrissey and Rory Brennan, from Thurles, and they also have Parnell Street with me.

We'll tip away now on a bit of soft ground and probably even step her up to a mile-and-a-quarter. She always showed a good bit, but disappointed a lot of times. Andrew (Slattery, son and jockey) had to stand down today to give Sam the chance of another winner. He'll have to stand down on a few of them now for that. Sam is a bit heavy, so it's his last chance (for the apprentice championship).

Ballinrobe Fri, 11th Sep, 2026  Iron Sword It was straightforward and, in fairness, he was very unlucky the last day at Roscommon (third). Adam had to ride him the way he did then, just to give him a bit of experience, but he got wiped out. It was a small field here, and he kept things simple.
