Down Royal Fri, 8th Sep, 2023  Ashwiyaa Delighted to finally get her head in front. She was already third in a Group 2 and she has just had a habit of getting herself beaten for one reason or another. It was my own fault for putting the blinkers on her the last day dropping her back to five, she didn't seem to face them. I took them off her today and bounced her back out again. Colin said she might be made for that five furlong Listed race in Dundalk. She has a lot of speed and wants something to aim at, and just does enough when she gets there. That was the plan, she was able to travel away and she is able to have something to keep her concentrated and go and quicken up . Great to get her maiden bracket sorted. She has strengthened up a lot over the summer and, if she keeps doing, that she could win a little stakes race somewhere.

Tipperary Sun, 3rd Sep, 2023  Twilight Jet It was great, I'm delighted to get Twilight Jet's head back in front because he hadn't the most straightforward path to this as he had two surgeries over the winter. He had one for colic and had to have another surgery having slipped so it has been a long time coming back. Last year he blitzed them in the Lacken (Stakes), but went to Royal Ascot and was sick for quite a while. This year was about getting him back slowly, race to race. He'll go for something like the World Trophy (Group 3 at Newbury) or I might step him up to six (furlongs) but there are a few options for him in the UK. Leigh (Roche) couldn't pull him up today and a stiff five or stepping back up to six will suit. . Lokada had a lot of headgear on her to try to get her to relax - we have been tricking around with her and always thought she had the ability to get black-type. They went so hard in front that Colin (Keane) was able to get cover to help her relax and she came home well. Today was huge for her and she might be able to win one of these now.

Navan Thu, 31st Aug, 2023  Francis Meynell He's a horse I've taken my time with. He's quite enthusiastic at home so we went back to basics with him and we've slowly let him get himself ready for this. He's going to improve plenty. It's more so his mind that made him look so professional today but I think he'll improve a lot from what he's done at home. It looked like a good race on paper beforehand, with the form of Ger's and a few others, so for him to go and do that first time out and Leigh said he thought that he was only in second gear. I thought if he was able to win his maiden today and he looked nice that I might pitch him into something like the Flying Childers. He's quick, he'd get six furlongs I'd say, but he has a lot of speed and there is no point trying to tame it. I'm not trying to talk him up but I honestly don't know where the bottom of him is.
