Galway Fri, 31st Jul, 2026  Jp's Express It's lovely when you have one that's set up for it,. . I told the owner two months ago that I thought he was a Galway horse. He just scraped in at the bottom of the weights. There is a big long hill up there and you need to be able to stay and have the heart for it. . We put cheekpieces on him today, just to liven him up. At Fairyhouse the last day, he kind of half went to sleep and didn't know what he was doing. . The hardest part is to keep it rolling (good run of form). The wheels could come off the bus very easily. . We seem to have a nice team of horses and we have great staff. We don't have many new owners, lads have been with me for years. I wouldn't mind if someone came with a cheque book!

Ballinrobe Mon, 20th Jul, 2026  Nephin Mountain He ran well at Leopardstown (in June), but I was a little disappointed with him the last day (at Down Royal on Friday). This looked a weak enough race, so we said we'd throw him back in again. He'll be too low (rating) to get into Galway, so we'll look for something else over a mile and a quarter or a mile and a half, maybe somewhere like Sligo might suit. Terry is a good rider and was with me for a year and a half. He was a little bit homesick (for Limerick), so he's a bit closer to home now with Danny Murphy on the Curragh. He's improving and he has followed the same path as Wesley Joyce.
