FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - There was plenty of chat about Willie Mullins winning the mares handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival, run to commemorate his father Paddy. Of the three Closutton representatives in that event, CONTINGENCY was the shortest in the betting, despite being decidedly weak in the minutes leading up to the off. As it turned out the daughter of Champs Elysees did best of the Mullins trio, finishing third behind the authoritative victor, Alletrix. Merie Devie came home in fifth then for the champion trainer, and she's gone on to win since at Punchestown. Uradel is a nice back-up for the stable, whilst in truth there's few if any you'd be ruling out with any great confidence. Wigs On The Green has been disappointing the last twice.
