FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - LARQUEBUSE, one of two runners here for Gordon Elliott, gets the nod. The selection won her point-to-point for Colin Bowe at the Brosna Foxhounds Durrow meeting in March 2018. A 50,000 Euro Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduate, Larquebuse impressed with an eight length win on that occasion, after which Bowe remarked: "She is a lovely mare who was just a bit big and backward but has come together well this spring. We will hopefully head to the sales with her now." The Saddler Maker mare started out quite well for her connections now, on the racecourse proper, with a close third placing in a Limerick mares bumper on St Stephen's Day. Tony Mullins' winner there, Shanches, is now bound for the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.
