Reports in which Borboleta (IRE) was mentioned
The Birdie Crowe now 2 from 4
With 4/7 shot Borboleta failing by some way to come up to expectations, the way was left clear for something else to shine and The Birdie Crowe certainly did that when prevailing in the concluding Weatherbys Ireland Mares INH Flat Race at Galway. Tue 06th Sep"Plenty of fun" ahead with Borboleta
Cable headed her for favouritism but out on the track there was no contest as Willie Mullins' Borboleta looked a bright prospect when sauntering home at her ease in the concluding Cummins & Sons Homevalue INH Flat Race at Ballinrobe. Mon 08th Aug
After race at Ballinrobe Mon, 8th Aug, 2016 (1st)
She has been quite hard to keep sound and she was bought two years ago. She has a great pedigree, Germany is obviously a fantastic sire and she is a half-sister to The Romford Pele,. We weren't sure she'd do that. Because she has been quite fragile we haven't trained her as hard as usual. I'd say the favourite didn't run to form, but I think there is plenty of fun to be had with her. She is owned by John Coleman, he used to have a horse called Rattan. He is not here today but I'm sure there will be plenty of other days in the winner's enclosure for him.
