Cash Back made it two from two over fences with an impressive display in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Chase at Naas.

Danny Mullins rode Cash Back (3/1 out to 7/2) for his uncle Willie, with Closutton stable jockey Paul Townend aboard Tornado Flyer (2/1 into 7/4 favourite). Zero Ten was the only one that was going to put up any sort of challenge to all-the-way-victor Cash Back from some way out.

However Cash Back was slick over the final couple of fences and he sprinted away up the run-in to score by twelve lengths.

Tornado Flyer pulled up before the second last.

Paddy Power go 14/1 from 33/1 about Cash Back for the Racing Post Arkle at Cheltenham.

“It was a very good performance and there was a lot of improvement from his Navan run,” said Willie Mullins.

“I was a bit worried the ground was drying out but it didn't seem to bother him. He jumped very well and hopefully he keeps improving.

“Danny was very positive on him and they get on well. We'll see where we go from here, I'm not sure what his next target will be.

“We'll see whether he goes for the Dublin Racing festival, and the Arkle there, or we find another two mile race.

“He has a good style of running and jumping. He likes to get at his racing and jumping.

“Tornado was disappointing there but hopefully we can sort out whatever was up with him. Paul said he wasn't travelling at all at any stage.”

P. Townend, rider of Tornado Flyer trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and jumped poorly.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Tornado Flyer, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported that the animal was found to have a respiratory infection post race.
