Review leopardstown 8th Jun

< Brendan Brackan is seemingly better than ever at the age of eight and stamped his authority on the Glencairn Stakes at Leopardstown.

Ger Lyons' stable stalwart landed the Irish Lincolnshire before taking third behind Minding in the Mooresbridge, but had to concede weight all round in this Listed affair.

He was up to the task, though, with Gary Carroll allowed an uncontested lead on the 7-2 shot so he had plenty to give when asked for his effort in the straight, and he came home three and a half lengths to the good over stablemate Elusive Heights

There was also an all-the-way winner of the other Listed contest on the card as Grandee proved too strong for Jessie Harrington and Colm O'Donoghue in the King George V Cup.

The 7-2 chance first saw off the threat of Finn McCool and the further he went, the better he went, and he had two and a quarter lengths in hand of Eziyra at the line.< September made a sparkling start to her career with an emphatic victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

The 9-2 joint-favourite is out of former champion filly Peeping Fawn and showed excellent acceleration to sweep to the front a furlong out before crossing the line with five and a half lengths in hand of Himmah < Spanish Tenor (11-2) has been set some stiff assignments but was too good for his Leopardstown Rated Race rivals.

Tim Doyle's colt, who ran in the Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial before finishing fourth to Irishcorrespondent, showed a pleasing attitude to repel game pacesetter Oh Grace by a length.

Gordon Elliott's good hurdler Automated appeared relatively well treated for his return to the level in the Grant Thornton Handicap, and he did the business as the 5-2 favourite.

The judge couldn't separate 12-1 shots Snoozing Indian and Settle For Red at the end of the Something Happens Apprentice Handicap, while Harrington and O'Donoghue followed up Grandee's win when Hyperdrive took the Leopardstown Summer Pass Handicap.
