Formscan - On target in a Chepstow maiden before making a successful handicap debut at Pontefract last time, Altmore will undoubtedly be popular despite a subsequent 11lb rise, given his unexposed profile. Zoum Zoum has been campaigned at Pattern level since winning a novice at Newmarket in November of last year and he's of interest now pitched into handicaps, but a chance can be taken on MAGICAL SPIRIT. Kevin Ryan's charge might have an inconsistent profile, but he loves it around here, with his three C&D victories all coming on similar ground (including this race in 2021). He's just 1lb above his last winning mark, and a return to this venue may well spark a revival. Wodao is also noted.
