Formscan By Gary Carson - DANCING JEREMY looks the one to beat in this if he can get the longer trip. The grey was a touch fortunate to win at Thurles three weeks ago but it was a stronger race than this and off a 4lb higher mark he doesn’t look harshly treated. The furthest he’s won over is two-and-a-half but he was placed over three miles over hurdles. Rocky’s Howya comes here off the back of a couple of claiming hurdle wins and looks an obvious danger. He’s probably better suited to chasing. West Cork Wildway was well behind the selection last time but may get closer now over a more suitable trip.
An extended handicap steeplechase for ten years old and upwards (130 = 11st 12lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.

Quotes on Dancing Jeremy (IRE)
Last season lingered on for him and I had him in for the Mayo National (late May) but he didn't run and, when he came back in, he picked up a niggly injury which set us back. Fair play to Padraig Roche (trainer) who took him and swam him for a while, which kept the wheels turning, but he was very lucky to get here today as the lorry broke down. We had to swap him over on the motorway and just got here on time. Heather (partner) was travelling with Dancing Jeremy, but her lorry broke down and it wasn't able to go over 30km per hour. Luckily, I was travelling behind with the later runners, so was able to swap and he got here just on time. We were fortunate winners, but they are there to be jumped and he has been a savage servant for us. He won a Listed race last year, and our young lad Charlie is only four but walks him around the yard and loves him. He has an attractive mark over hurdles, so we might go that way now.

Quotes on Rocky's Howya (IRE)
That’s his kind of thing now. He’s ten-years-old and he’s had plenty of issues. He’s staying in one piece at the moment. He’s had tendon issues. Dave (Kiely) is getting a good return out of him. He’d been a long-time maiden. Between point-to-pointing and aiming for Foxhunters, he’d never really had a clear run. He’s a grand horse and he’s grand for that job. He’s a novice and a veteran! He can run in a novice chase as well, so he has a couple of options. I’d say the visor is after waking him up and Kevin is good value for his 7lb.

Quotes on West Cork Wildway (IRE)
This fella has been very good to me although age has caught up with him. The handicapper dropped him a few pounds though and Eoin's claim was also very valuable. He always showed spark at home so I always felt he'd win another race and he had his conditions with soft ground in today's slow-run race. He is one of my stable stars and he brings on and leads the young stock at home. That's the way he likes to be trained now and he'll keep going now, so hopefully he can win another one.

Quotes on Grange Walk (IRE)
He fell a lot of days when he had races won and had a lot of hard luck, so deserved that. He is a good horse and was always going to win a hurdle off that mark,. He was once rated 145 over fences so would be different class to those.

Quotes on Cahirdown Boy (IRE)
The whole secret to Cahirdown Boy is to throw the reins at him, as it makes him settle: if you grab any hold of him, he will arrive at the second-last fence but his race will have been run. Once you throw the reins at him, he will settle. Sean did a marvellous job and while we weren't going to lead with (front-runner) Kilashee in the race, as long as the horse was relaxed he was going to come home well. That is why I wanted Sean to ride him. Sean Curran is a wonderful owner from Spiddle and has had three Kerry National winners for me. We go back a long way and while unfortunately he wasn't able to come today, his son Sean is here and will be more than happy to collect the trophy. Gaelic Des Chastys really loves quick ground but got away with it today.

Quotes on Casey West (IRE)
I took a chance coming here so soon after Limerick and he is also way better going left-handed. I have him for two point-to-point and two hunter chases and he had finished second three times. Aintree is left-handed and I think now we are qualified to run in the Foxhunters Chase there. He'll go back point-to-pointing now but going left-handed, over a short hunters chase trip and the fences over there, will suit. This lad has a bit of class, has to be ridden positively and while he'll go on better ground, wouldn't want it too quick.
