Formscan By Gary Carson - FIRE CORAL won well in Listowel recently and may be able to follow up. The consistent performer posted a convincing three-and-a-half length success then and should run a big race again despite an 8lb rise for that victory. Moonshine Girl looked well held behind the winner last time when slipping up turning for home. She did win here previously though so may play a bigger role now. Grace Faraday was also a winner on her last visit here and is another to consider. She was described as quirky then though and her form wouldn’t be as consistent as the selection.

we were hoping she'd run well but I was a bit worried when the rain came last night. She has been running well all year and Danny gave her a lovely ride today. She is fairly straightforward, makes the running and goes along at her own gallop. She is very tough and tries hard. She is still quite well handicapped on the Flat and is a great fun mare. It was unfortunate for Philip (Enright), who had been riding her all year but couldn't today, although I have excellent riders to choose from.

She’s a quirky Flemensfirth mare who made things very hard as she was hanging. but James gave her a great ride and she did it well in the end. Jody gets on with her, whatever it is. The lads (sons), Danny and Jack, have ridden her and she doesn’t go as well for them as she does for Jody. She’ll probably stay on her now, but where we’ll go with her I don’t know. It’s brilliant for her to break her maiden here and she won well. The fact that she’s owned by Natalie, my wife, makes it ever better. I went to Down Royal with her last Friday week and I think the journey up was a problem. She didn’t enjoy Down Royal at all, but the fact that here was so close and handy, I said I’d bring her. In these low grade races, you don’t know what day they’ll turn up and win. This is every bit as good as winning the Blazers for us.
