uk MAIDEN FILLIES' STAKES (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for Summer Heat (GB), City Queen (IRE), Midnight Sparkle (IRE) and Silken Bay (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Just inside the final three furlongs, Kelly Burn (GB), placed third, edged slightly left-handed at the same time as Summer Heat (GB), placed fourth, shifted slightly right-handed resulting in a weakening Oceanides (GB), unplaced, being hampered.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Kelly Burn (GB) or Summer Heat (GB).
An enquiry was held into the weighing-in procedure involving Rob Hornby, the rider of Midnight Sparkle (IRE), unplaced, in this race.
Hornby, the Clerk of the Scales, the Valet and a BHA Steward were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, the Stewards adjourned the enquiry to a date to be confirmed, in order to gain access to the relevant CCTV footage.
Following the race, Connor Planas reported that City Queen (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed in the straight and Hollie Doyle reported that Silken Bay (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed.
