Permission was given for Ever Driven (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood.
Halfway down the back straight, a free-running Trust Sergei (GB), placed fifth, had to be checked off the heels of the winner, Lucky Man (IRE), resulting in Ballsgrove Boy (GB), unplaced, being hampered as a consequence, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Inside the final ½ furlong, Coast (GB), placed fourth, lugged slightly left-handed causing Ballsgrove Boy (GB), unplaced, to be checked in its run, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Coast (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Ever Driven (IRE) which had bolted to post and was subsequently withdrawn by the Stewards.
The representative of Tom Dascombe was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
As the gelding had also bolted to post and been withdrawn at Salisbury on 04 May 2025 and at Doncaster on 23 July 2025, where it was in receipt of a future similar behaviour warning, the matter was referred to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, Edward Greatrex reported that Hackney Diamonds (GB), unplaced, was slow into stride and Jack Doughty reported that Ballsgrove Boy (GB), unplaced, became short of room inside the final ½ furlong.
