Leaving the stalls, Ranga Tang (GB), placed second, jumped left-handed giving a bump to the winner, Sahara King (GB), which in turn, gave a bump to DIRECTOR’S CUT (IRE), unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving Heyzoom (IRE), placed third, ridden by Stevie Donohoe and DIRECTOR’S CUT (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Shane Foley.
Donohoe was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he moved Heyzoom (IRE) sharply left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, resulting in Foley having to surrender his position.
Following the race, Jack Callan reported that Lake Como (IRE), unplaced, ran green; Dougie Costello reported that NANDO’S PRIDE (IRE), unplaced, ran green and Callum Hutchinson reported that Hot And Cold (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
