Permission was given for Red Hot Rose (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Gilbert (GB), trained by Adam West, ran the previous day at Brighton, finishing fifth of eight runners.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
The winner, Forever Proud (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Brighton on 20 April 2024 where the filly finished eighth of twelve, beaten by 9¾ lengths.
Mark Hoad’s explanation that Forever Proud (GB) benefited from a return to Lingfield having previously won over course and distance, was noted.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Gilbert (GB), unplaced, ran flat.
