Permission was given for Marajito (GB) and Bona Fortuna (IRE) to go early to post and for Jenever (GB) and Hoodie Hoo (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Act Of Violence (GB) bit its tongue in the Parade Ring.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Officer, the gelding was deemed fit to run.
Leaving the stalls, Spirit Of Applause (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed carrying Hoodie Hoo (IRE), placed second, across the running of Act Of Violence (GB), unplaced, causing that runner to be checked by its rider.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately half a furlong after the start, Kats Bob (GB), placed fifth, edged marginally left-handed at the same time as the winner, Jenever (GB), edged slightly right-handed in a tightly bunching field, leaving both Aberama Gold (GB), placed third, and Blind Beggar (IRE), unplaced, short of room, which further resulted in Blind Beggar (IRE) stumbling.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Jenever (GB).
The winner, Jenever (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket, on 20 September 2025, where the gelding finished ninth of ten runners, beaten 9 lengths.
Jessica Macey’s explanation that Jenever (GB) benefitted from the application of first-time blinkers, was noted.
Jenever (GB) was routine tested.
