Permission was given for Lechuga Lad (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 5½ furlongs out when the winner, Longhaired General (IRE), ridden by Tom Eaves, interfered with THAT’S MY BOY LUKE, placed third, ridden by Sean Kirrane.
The interference was found to be accidental in that THAT’S MY BOY LUKE grabbed hold of the bridle as Kirrane was attempting to get cover on the gelding in behind Longhaired General (IRE) and in doing so became unbalanced between that gelding and the rail resulting in Kirrane having to take a check on THAT'S MY BOY LUKE.
