Permission was given for Sevarana (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference from approaching 3 furlongs out until approximately 2½ furlongs out involving the winner, Sevarana (IRE), ridden by Harry Bannister and The Hustler (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jonathan Burke.
In the first incident, Burke was cautioned for careless riding as after his mount had initially moved slightly right-handed away from the whip, he had over- corrected by then edging left over a number of strides when insufficiently clear of Sevarana (IRE), which had by then established running to his inner and resulted in Bannister being inconvenienced when crowded for racing room.
In the second incident, Bannister was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched his mount right-handed without being clear of The Hustler (IRE), which received a significant bump and was carried wider off its intended line.
The performance of Son Of Tyran (GB), which finished unplaced, beaten by 27¼ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Dan Skelton could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion.
Following the race, Tabitha Worsley reported that Man Up Front (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
