Permission was given for Exitas (IRE) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference after jumping the final hurdle in the back straight on the final circuit involving Tres Francais (GB), which was pulled up, ridden by Tom O’Brien; Calvinist (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Brian Hughes; Wishfull Dreaming (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Jonathan England and Hattaab (GB), placed second, ridden by Kielan Woods.
England was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he moved right for clear running after jumping the hurdle, misjudging the gap between Tres Francais (GB) and Calvinist (GB) which was insufficient for his horse and causing interference to the two runners on his outside.
Following the race, James Best reported that Robsam (IRE), which was pulled up, lost its action and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame on its right fore.
The Veterinary Officer also reported that Romeo Brown (GB), placed eighth, finished lame on its right fore.
