Permission was given for Gloryous (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and wear a red hood to post, and for Veraison (IRE), Versailles Prince (GB) and Hibernate (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Approximately 2 furlongs out, Veraison (IRE), placed third, edged slightly right-handed at the same time as Versailles Prince (GB), placed fourth, lugged slightly left-handed, resulting in Appleblossomwhite (IRE), placed fifth, being disappointed for clear running.
But after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Veraison (IRE) or Versailles Prince (GB).
