It’s not very often you get to win two €100,000 handicaps one after another,. He’s a lovely horse, very professional. We thought this was his trip and we fancied him, we thought he’d run a big race. We thought in the Curragh that he idled a little bit in front. A couple of people were saying that some horses were finishing well but I just think he idled a little bit. We made sure that we had him coming home today. He gave him a great ride and it was a good bit of placing by Ed (brother). We’ll see what the handicapper does. I’d love to bring him to Galway. It would be a tough feat but I think he would suit the place. He’s got gate speed and stays. He’ll handle a bit of ease in the ground as well if there is a slight ease there. A big thank-you to Mick Halford too, we were very lucky to get him. His mum passed away yesterday.

He likes the nice ground. We were aiming him at Galway, and we said it would be a bit soft, and we went to Naas and it was too quick. He was just getting going over the stiff seven (furlongs) there and hit the line well. It all depends on ground with him. He'll do the winter in Dundalk now. I suppose he's back down to a rating of 80 which is a help to him, and the jockey’s 7lb claim helped as well. Patrick is an excellent claimer and has been very good all year for us. He has ridden winners and a lot of placed horses for us and I thought he gave that horse an exceptional ride, having received a lovely briefing from Ben Coen beforehand. We have a nice team in place with riders, which is a big help to us. The horse found plenty and that (1m2f) is absolutely his trip, he hits the line strong over that trip and loves the surface here. He's turning 10 in the new year, so every day is a bonus now. He's a lovely horse for the yard and hopefully he will come back here again or run over hurdles at Christmas.

I just hope Dylan (Browne McMonagle) is alright - you can ride all the big winners you want and then this is what happens. Hopefully, he is alright. You don't like seeing that (fall). I genuinely thought I was second, I obviously need to go to Specsavers! Johnny (Murtagh) said 'I don't know' and I said, 'Don't be silly, I'm second and beaten a head. I said I would have a score with him. I would have been happy to pay the score!. Great ride from him. He really is a backend four-year-old, not a three-year-old, and he's not a miler. I just took a gamble because it was horses rated such and a median type of maiden to put him in, and he's game. Colin wanted headgear on him and we put the headgear on him and it worked - everything worked. We are lucky around here.

He did it well. He's a horse that's improved with every run. He needed the extra furlong, the way he was coming home at Dundalk. He's a big horse and he just took the time to develop.
