'All systems go' for Stumptown's crack at Irish Grand National Gavin Cromwell reports Stumptown to be firmly on track for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National Steeplechase next Monday after his close second in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham. He went down by a neck to fellow Irish raider Angels Dawn over 3m2f at Prestbury Park last month and steps up to an extended 3m5f for the Fairyhouse showpiece. The trainer said: "All systems go for the Irish National. "It is coming quick enough, 24 days from the Kim Muir, but we are effectively 7lb well in and we have to take our chance. "It looks like the weights are going to go up a bit and we'll be off a nice weight. "It is giving a dry forecast for the week, hopefully it dries out a bit - I wouldn't want it too soft. We would rather nice-ish ground. "He should stay the trip fine." Stumptown has hit a rich vein of form this year as, prior to Cheltenham, he was victorious in staying handicap chases at Thurles and Sandown.
