'Groggy' Moore out of intensive care Trainer Gary Moore is recovering well in hospital after being kicked in the back several times by one of his horses on Thursday. The incident happened at Moore's Cisswood Stables in Sussex and he was taken to Redhill Hospital for treatment. Moore spent Thursday night in intensive care after having fluid on his lungs and damaging ribs, but the trainer's son, Joshua, is pleased to report his injuries are not too serious. He said: "He's out of intensive care and I spoke to him this morning. "He's a bit groggy, obviously, but nothing worse than that. "I think he's pretty OK. He's having a lot of antibiotics and and painkillers, but he doesn't need any operations or anything like that, as far as I know." Joshua Moore's brother, Jamie, said his father has sustained broken ribs, a punctured lung and a bruised spleen. "He is sore and was in intensive care, but I think it's all been blown up out of proportion," he told At The Races. "When he got kicked he was in pain, but he didn't even want my mum calling the ambulance. "He's broken ribs, punctured his lung and bruised his spleen. Hopefully he'll be all right. "My mum is trying to keep him in hospital as long as possible. He might be trying to break free and ringing a few of his mates to come and pick him up! "He is granite - he's hard as nails . No doubt he'll be back very quick."
