The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt was caught in a pocket in the straight and Ryan Moore had to switch him out as 5/4 favourite Hotazhell was ridden to lead well over a furlong out. The son of Camelot really got motoring inside the final furlong and led right on the line to pip the favourite by a nose. Hotazhell jinked right under pressure about 100 yards out interfering with Geryon and following a stewards enquiry, the places of the second and third were reversed. Stable representative Chris Armstrong said, “In fairness, Ryan gave him a helluva ride. Ryan felt from riding him on his last run in Lingfield, to bring him back in trip and to ride him that way. That was the way to ride him and, in fairness, it worked out. "He appreciated the mile and one here, and he didn't mind the ease in the ground at all. "I'd say we will probably try to keep him to nine furlongs and maybe go to Leopardstown for the Group 3 Meld Stakes in the middle of July. Now we have found his trip, just let him progress.
