Bell Ex Too took the novice handicap hurdle on Gowran Park's card at odds of 100/30 for Ray Cody and Michael Kenneally.

Kenneally squeezed him to take closer order approaching the home bend and he stalked long-time-leader Firebrand into the straight.

He was just behind the leader in jumping two out and went on before the last.

The sole three-year-old in the field was driven out in the closing stages to beat fast-finishing Papagei (7/2) by a length and three quarters. Firebrand rounded out the placings in third at 6/1.

Cody said: "I love that horse. After the last day, when I thought he'd win in Punchestown (fifth), I thought the dream wasn't alive anymore. I just put a line through that race.

"Today was a '120' handicap hurdle; I know he was getting all the allowances, but he's a very good horse to do that. The dream is back again.

"I was going to leave him alone, he's over 17 hands, only a shell of a horse. The way he won today, I might go for that Grade 3 in Fairyhouse at the end of the month. I'll see how he comes out of this race. If not, I'll leave him alone and bring him back in the new year.

"I think if I mind him, I think he's a very good horse."
