The Mooch (8/1) resolutely kept up the gallop in Wexford’s bumper to give trainer Paul Nolan a treble on the evening.

Harley Dunne was up on the five-year-old gelding who was having his third outing in a bumper.

A sixth at Naas and fourth at Downpatrick to the useful Rathvinden had shown that The Mooch had some ability and he showed a good attitude to see off Quinville Castle (6/1) who came at him in the last furlong.

Alan Dobbs, Paul Nolan's head lad said: "He was too keen the last day so we decided to bowl along in front with him today. Harley gave him a great ride, he did exactly what he was told and he slowed down mid-race to give him a breather.

"He will be kept on the go and he'll go for a maiden hurdle now. He jumps very well. Paul is on holidays in Portugal."

Nicky English, former Tipperary hurler and manager, is a part owner with his cousin Roger English. Roger also bred the winner.

There was two lengths in it at the end of two and a quarter miles. The Mooch was pulling away again from his rival as he hit the line. Station Closed rewarded her each way punters as she grabbed third at 5/1. The 4/1 favourite, Festival Opera disappointed in 11th.
