10mm of rain at Downpatrick The going at Downpatrick this afternoon is faster than many would have expected following a poor weather forecast, with just 10mm of rain overnight. The official going is good (good to firm in places), while the third last fence will be omitted throughout the day. Clerk of the course Pat Malone explained; "Some work was required on the track and as a result the regulation fence (third last) has been dolled off. The 10mm of rain last night has left the track in good shape."
